RIZAL- In the spirit of promoting work-life balance and a healthy lifestyle, the Department of Science and Technology - Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI), thru the Finance and Administrative Division and Science Education Institute Employees Association (SEIA), joined eighteen (18) other DOST regional offices and attached agencies in the opening ceremonies of the 2023 DOST Sports Festival held at the Binangonan Recreation and Conference Center in Binangonan, Rizal last April 26, 2023.
With the theme Solidarity, Resilience, Unity, and Sportsmanship, the 2023 DOST Sportsfest opened with a ceremonial parade of colors followed by a cheer dance presentation of employees representing different offices of DOST. After that, muses delighted the crowd by wearing costumes made from recycled materials reflecting the institute’s mandates.
The Oath of Sportsmanship was led by Dr. Romulo Agganan, DOST-FPRDI Director and Vice-chairperson of the 2023 DOST Sports Festival. All teams promised to abide by the rules and regulations of the games in the spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship. In the afternoon, agencies and regional offices participated in several basketball, badminton, volleyball, and chess exhibition games.
In the elimination round, the SEI Bowling Team won against the Advanced Science and Technology Institute (DOST-ASTI) Bowling Team.
The DOST Sportsfest will continue throughout May and will culminate in the first week of June 2023.
